Wrong way to count down

Here's another story about my brother, let's call him Kitten, from Sheep.

KITTEN:

When are we going for that family vacation?

SHEEP:

It's on the 15th.

KITTEN:

Ouh... It's the 5th day of the month today.

How long until then?

SHEEP:

I don't know. Go ahead and count from today to the 15th.

KITTEN:
Okay!
*counts with his fingers*
Today is 5th...
So, 5-4-3-2...

SHEEP:
Wait a second, you'll never get to the 15th like that.
You're counting backwards!

KITTEN:
*looks at fingers*
*quickly recover*
5-6-7-8...

I'm starting to question my brother's ability to count and make logical conclusions.
